Artist Strategy Sessions for Somerset House Studios Community
Fieldwork is offering a series of strategy sessions for artists and creatives who are part of the Somerset House Studios Community.
These sessions will be led by Welsh artist and studio alumni Phoebe Davies on Monday 10th March and Tuesday 11th March 2025.
The 1-1 sessions offer artists space to discuss their practice and explore:
Strategy for sustainable career development (forging long-term support)
Arts partnership and touring consultancy (budgets, schedules & production planning)
Fundraising support (signposting & application writing)
ABOUT:
Phoebe Davies has worked in the arts for over 15 years with a practice that bridges exhibiting, producing and participation. She has a breadth of national and international experience delivering projects for galleries, institutions, theatres and artist-led spaces.
Alongside her studio practice she is dedicated to supporting artist development and creating space for peer-to-peer support. In 2021 she founded Fieldwork Studio CIC an arts and ecology initiative in South Wales situated on Slade Farm Organics, a tenant farm run by her sister Polly Davies. Fieldwork’ Studio’s programme spans rural residencies, community growing research and artist support.
Through 1-1 sessions and workshops, she has worked with hundreds of artists from all backgrounds and at all stages of their careers, with a key focus on sustainable working practices and supporting artists to negotiate partnerships, fees, and budgets. Her experience spans securing funding from Arts Council England, Arts Council Wales, Creative Scotland, the British Council, UK trusts and foundations, development funds, and academic and arts partners. Key knowledge areas include: social practice, visual arts, film & video, sound, dance, performance & live work, print & self-publishing.
All 1-1 sessions will take place on zoom.
Each session is free of charge and will be shaped to the artists needs.
These sessions are funded by Somerset House Studios.
